River of information in four easy steps - invest 45 minutes per day to fill your river.

  1. Follow people that you find interesting on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn along with content on Slideshare, video sharing sites (YouTube). Why not follow your competition keeping an eye on what they are up to?
  2. Install and use tools to automate your research so that all the useful information is at your fingertips - Netvibes, Tweetdeck, etc.
  3. Place content of interest on your browser and save it as PDFs or use services such as OneNote so that you can retrieve information you thought useful in a previous life.
  4. Share this useful content with your friends, clients, suppliers and partners. Store and harness this flow of information. This could should be a daily habit for you. For example, every day from 6-7 in the morning. Exercise your mind and increase the IQ of your company whilst sharing this with your colleagues - define what type of river they want to have.
